A Little Information About Us
West Sligo FRC CLG. is a not for profit organisation established in 2006 in Easkey, Co. Sligo and was known as Easkey Family Resource Centre. In order to be more inclusive, the Board changed the name of the organisation to West Sligo Family Resource Centre CLG. and relocated its core operation to Enniscrone.
West Sligo FRC provides a range of services to people and organisations within the West Sligo area which stretches from Ballisodare to the Mayo border. Those services include personal supports, for example, second-chance adult education, mental health & well-being, events which give information on a range of topics from health and welfare and other matters which may be pertinent to the area.
The FRC is one of 4 located in Co. Sligo and is part of the TUSLA organisation which has 109 FRCs nationally.
West Sligo FRC actively engage and are contracted to TUSLA to provide supports and interventions to children and families in the area. West Sligo FRC will also act as a conduit to deliver services on behalf of other agencies with a focus on the reduction of disadvantage and poverty. The FRC also has the capacity to represent local interests within networks which offer supports, for example, Mental Health Services, dissemination of information and personal services such as counselling, advocacy and representation. West Sligo FRC will also support the setting up of services and help local groups to manage their governance responsibilities whilst acting to also assist the administrative needs of small groups (i.e. grant applications and reporting).
